Summer 2009 - More Silverware for SCRUFC

Congratulations to...

SCRUFC's spin off touch rugby team. The "Touchy Feelies" took the honours last night in the divisional play-off final with a convincing 7-3 scoreline over "The Misfits". The victory was all the more remarkable, as we had lost to them the previous week 5-3 in the final league game.

In a game of two halves (still a great phrase), we put a huge effort in the first, and pulled out a stunning 5-0 lead at half time. But with a depleted squad, only seven players available, we came out for the second half very tired. The misfits boasting a squad of twelve were able to capitalise with a try in the first 10 seconds. But we dug in deep, as we became more and more weary and bedraggled, and held on to the last breath for a glorious victory.

The winning team was made up of Ben Boyles, Ben Maddison, Richard Holdman, Ian Clements, Tom Faulkner Darren Kerr & Jim Wingfield.
